to everyone who made it out to Tokyo Rainbow Pride today and metup with us (many of whom aren’t photoed above), otsukaresama deshita! it was great to see you all and i hope everyone had as great a time as i did. without going into a long-winded spiel because i’m exhausted (and might do it later), today was the highlight of Pride: the parade through Shibuya / Harajuku. imho, it’s safe to say that this year’s parade was the best yet in terms of asexual representation and visibility. not only that, there was also more non-binary, genderqueer and pansexual representation and visibility than in years past thanks largely in part to the NPO にじいろ学校 (formally にじいろ小町) whose group and float Ace Spec Japan walked with this year. more information and a lot more photos will be posted hopefully within the next week, so stay tuned. ?Tokyo Rainbow Pride 2017: Parade & Ace Meetup
…it’s that time of year again. time for Tokyo Rainbow Pride! since 2014 myself and other aces in Japan (now known as Ace Spec Japan) have come together during Golden Week to raise awareness of asexuality by walking in the annual Tokyo Rainbow Pride Parade, followed by a casual meetup elsewhere in Tokyo. this year will be as awesome as ever and anyone interested in joining us– or even just stopping by to say ‘hi’– is welcome! walking in the parade is optional, of course. date: Sunday, May 7th, 2017 time: [parade] 10:30 ~ 14:00? [cross-posted in part to Ace Spec Japan] had a great time at the ace meetup today. there was a great turn out and it was nice to see some new faces. it’s amazing to see how much the group has grown in 3 years, especially since it’s mostly happened via word of mouth and Tumblr. personally, i always enjoy the stimulating conversations (and rant sessions) that are much harder to have with most Japanese people for various reasons…. looking forward to the next meetup! although at this point, i’m not sure when that’ll be. hoping that i’ll be able to visit the Kansai area sooner than later and organize a meetup down there as well because it feels rather… unfair? that all the meetups and such have thus far only be held in Kanto, which is out of reach for some. plus i just really want to visit Kansai, damnit. oh…

Ace Spec Japan Meetup Ace Spec Japan, a LINE-based group for aces in Japan, will be having its next meetup in Chiba on Sunday, September 18th, 2016! see our new (and still under construction) WordPress blog for details! (Kansai) Rainbow Festa Rainbow Festa (aka Kansai Rainbow Parade) will be held in Ogimachi Park, Osaka on Saturday, October 8th, 2016. for more information, see the official website. Tokyo Rainbow Pride 2016 is just under a week away, so i’m going to take this opportunity to throw out some random info for anyone in the Tokyo / Kanto who’s going this year. just like every year, there’s a lot of stuff going on during “Rainbow Week”, the week leading up to the main events which are the Festa on Saturday, May 7th and the Festa + Parade on Sunday, May 8th. see the TRP website for details on all the events going on. Sat. sorry for going M.I.A., especially to those of you who’ve sent me asks/submissions. i’ve been computerless for the past week since my laptop died *wipes tear from eye* but an amazing friend (you know who you are! THANK YOU!!!) came to my rescue by letting me use her Mac until i can afford to buy a new laptop. <3 so now i’m bumbling around the first Mac that i’ve ever used in my life. whooooo~! i will respond to asks/submissions and start reblogging posts again as soon as i can catch my breath from work. also, i’m hoping to find a program that will let me edit and render my vlogs without paying money…. otherwise my YouTube channel will be dead for months until i get a new laptop. 🙁 in other news, i got to meet the amazing queenieofaces this past weekend! myself and a couple of other aces…

going to another LGBTQIA+ 交流会 / meeting tomorrow and i’m really excited (+ nervous)! unlike all of the past meetings/events that i’ve been to here in Japan, this one explicitly welcomes: bisexuals pansexuals asexuals gray asexuals polyamorous people transgender people genderfluid people genderless / agender people bigender people maveriques people who are questioning as in the website for the meeting describes each and every one of these identities individually rather than using some umbrella term, acronym with symbols, “セクマイ” (commonly used in Japan in place of “LGBT”) or some footnote to mention these people. AND unlike so many LGBTQIA+ events which are held at night / in a club / over alcohol, this event will be like a big tea party and 100% open to minors. AND it’s being held in my little “inaka” (countryside) prefecture, not in fuckin’ Tokyo. HOW FUCKIN’ AWESOME IS THAT??? major props to you, True Colors Project.…
