anon, if you feel like gray-ace is a word that describes you, then i say go with that and see where it takes you.

identity labels like “gray-ace” are useful for communicating information about yourself and your identity to others, as well as for finding community among similar people. if you feel like “gray-ace” helps you with both of those things, then perhaps you have found a category word that suits you. if not, or if in the future “gray-ace” stops feeling right, you can always drop the word in favor of something else. it is just a word, after all; you get to decide what it means to you.

that said, in my humble opinion, i think you’ll find that the experiences and feelings that you’ve described are shared among others in the gray-a community. the gray-a community is made up of extremely diverse people, but perhaps the more you look into it the clearer things will become for you?
